China Cup 2017 groups over

The first stage of China Cup 2017 has finished and the playoffs are set to start after Born of Fire and eFuture's elimination.

In a competition with two groups of three teams, where the first two move on to the playoffs, the first phase of China Cup 2017 has come to an end.

The tournament began with TYLOO winning 2-0 against Born Of Fire on Inferno (16-1) and Cobblestone (16-4). The next game had BOOT-d[S] eliminate Born Of Fire as they won Overpass (16-11) and Nuke (16-10).

Mo's team is yet to lose a map in their China Cup run

As the groups have three teams competing, the last game from Group A had Hansel "⁠BnTeT⁠" Ferdinand's new squad guarantee the first place with a 2-0 scoreline (16-11 on Mirage and 16-2 on Overpass).

Group B consisted of two European teams and a Chinese one. The first match had 5POWER win 2-1 against eFuture DK after a thrilling best-of-three (19-15 on Train, 11-16 on Mirage and 16-10 on Cobblestone).

As the Danish team lost their first match, they needed to win against fnatic Academy to continue their run in China. Although Maikil "⁠Golden⁠" Selim's squad lost the first map for 16-12 on Train, the Swedish men were able to take the match in their favor as they won Mirage (16-2) and Cobblestone (16-13).

In Group B's first place decider match, fnatic Academy managed to get a 2-0 scoreline against 5POWER (19-16 on Cache and 16-3 on Mirage) and a place in the playoffs.
